Connecticut Piping and Drumming Workshop
The Connecticut Piping and Drumming Workshop was co-founded in 2017 by the Manchester Pipe Band and the Mystic Highland Pipe Band, of Mystic CT. The goal of this workshop is to expose local students of piping and drumming to world-class and local instruction.
Since its founding, the workshop has succeeded in attracting increasing numbers of motivated students of piping and drumming to the annual event which is held in mid-to-late April in Stonington, Connecticut.
The instructors presenting at the workshop has varied a bit year-to-year, but has been anchored by the piping instruction of Willie McCallum of Bearsden, Scotland and Bruce Gandy, of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. For more information about this year’s workshop, please visit www.ctpipingdrumming.com.
Willie McCallum
One of the foremost competing pipers in the world today and native of Campbeltown, Kintyre, Willie has won almost every prize in solo piping and several times over.
Bruce Gandy
A professional bagpipe competitor for almost 35 years and a full-time professional bagpipe player, Bruce Gandy has been a teacher for 14 years.
